- E&MS Student Placement Year Scheme
-
Our Placement in industry places for the academic year 2009/10 are now filled. We will be actively recruiting for the year 2010/11 from January 2010.
We normally look at two placement positions, one in a business development and business support role which will work closely with our back office services, Marketing, business systems and administration services which support the live operations roles that our production team deliver for clients.
The other role is an events based role, which will directly be supporting the work of our live operations team as they plan and deliver events for the business. There would be a certain amount of marketing and business development within this role, but largely focussed around the live events industry.
The roles are available from 1st June and would potentially run through to September the following year. The principle behind this is that the successful student will be able to work on and observe the summer season work in the first year to see the jobs rolled out and observe operations, then starting in the autumn be fully involved in the years planning and development of jobs and see them come to fruition in the following year.
Our advertisement for the 2010 /11 academic year placements will be as follows:
Are you a student, studying Event Management or business studies at further education?
Do you need to find a work placement in industry for the next academic year (2010 / 2011)?
Would you enjoy a challenging role within a dynamic team which has the task of planning and delivering projects across the event industry; including arts, festival, corporate and conference work?
If the answer to these questions is yes, then we would like to hear from you. We have a broad range of work encompassing project management, business development, technical production and event site management. If working with us appeals and you are a motivated, organised person who can work as a part of a team and under your own initiative, then get in touch.
About the Job
Based at our offices in Cheltenham, each year we have the scope to engage a number of work placement students who would like to gain experience in different aspects of running a business such as ours.
The role(s) will include business development, business administration, project management and a certain amount of event management and / or technical production management on live event projects.
These happen under the supervision of our experienced production team and may be based in our offices, or out on client event sites.
The projects we engage with cover; corporate, conference, arts and festival, and range in size from under 100 to over 20,000 in attendance.
These opportunities are voluntary, self funded placements, though expenses incurred while on operation projects will be reimbursed.
About You
Applicants absolutely MUST be able to work on their own initiative, be capable of learning fast, be well motivated and be ready to work hard. We have a strong team of dedicated production managers with whom you will need to integrate with from day one.
About E&MS
E&MS trades from the same premises as CSS Ltd, our production Hire Company that provides sound, lighting, rigging and production hardware and services to a range of clients in the entertainment and corporate fields; and Elevation Ltd, our business that provides high end Corporate hospitality and presentation services for the corporate and charity sectors.
You will find that there are opportunities for a well motivated candidate to gain wide experience with both of our sister businesses.
