4th July 2009 will see a major Celebration in Gloucester as he Diocese celebraes the Year of the Child.

E&MS’ Janet Crompton has been working for nearly a year with the Diocese of Gloucester to plan and deliver this wonderful day of celebrations, workshop, fun and worship which starts in Gloucester Park, then processes through the streets of Gloucester to arrive for a full day of activities, fun and celebration in and around the grounds of the Cathedral.

“It’s been agreat project to work on” says Janet, “The Diocese team have a clear vision of what they want to do, and our part as E&MS has been to turn that into the practical business of making it happen”.

Janet has been liaising with all the statutory authorties in Gloucester, planning the procession, planning the activities inthe Cathedral and the Cathedral grounds and then ensuring all the I’s are dotted and T’s crossed as the event roles out in July.

On the Ground, Janet will also have Ben Parker looking after the Gloucester Park end of things and Jill Hoad looking after the Cathedral.
